Liberty Mutual Information Systems is actively searching for an experienced Software Developer who will leverage technology to develop business solutions within the insurance industry. In this role you will develop, code, test, and debug new software or make enhancements to existing software. You will develop and enhance software from general requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities:
* Under direct supervision, develops and enhances low complexity applications from detailed specifications for Agency Markets Claims applications. The successful candidate will code, test, document and maintain several mid-range applications in support of Claims. Will also analyze low complexity technical problems as well as provide on-call production support on a rotation basis.
* Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience. General knowledge of software development processes and development tools. Basis understanding of IT concepts, strategies, systems architectures and development methodologies. Requires strong oral and written communication skills.
* Candidates with prior Java and/or packaged PC application support will be given preference.
* Analyzes technical system problems, and designs and implements effective solutions.
* Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them.
* May be asked to provide on-call support.
* Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
* Consults on technical issues.
* Investigates components of new tools and techniques.
* Contributes to the development of project plans, and assigns and monitors tasks of lower level Software Developers as responsibilities and experience grows.

Requirements |
* The successful candidate will also provide desktop PC application support, general maintenance tasks, troubleshooting and certification testing in support of Claims packaged products.
* Candidates should have familiarity with the Java language and development process as well as familiarity testing, troubleshooting and configuring packaged PC products.
* Bachelors Degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies, architectures and technical standards.
* Proficient in programming languages and tools.
* Knowledgeable in new and emerging technologies.
* Knowledge of design and development tools.
* Knowledge of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs; understanding of shared software concepts.
