Liberty Mutual has an excellent claims opportunity available. As a Claims Technician you will help people resolve problems. You will use your investigative and negotiation skills in a fast paced environment while protecting the assets of the company. Responsibilities:
* Processes simple and routine claims in accordance with defined procedures for conducting investigations and evaluation of damages to achieve a prompt and equitable disposition.
* Ensures timely and accurate reserving. Adjusts reserves as necessary.
* Maintains diary of claims processed and matches all open and closed mail to ensure proper tracking of claims and processing in accordance with time and quality standards.
* Notifies Underwriting of questionable risks encountered to ensure risks are identified.
* Performs support duties related to assigned claims including data entry into system, maintaining folders, typing drafts and general correspondence to assist the unit in processing small and routine claims at an appropriate and efficient level.
* Reviews claims to identify fraud.
* Identifies potential subrogation and coverage issues and advises unit leader to ensure proper classification of assigned claims. May assist in claims requiring technical investigative skills including recorded statements to obtain the information necessary to evaluate liability and/or damages.
* Adheres to department quality standards to ensure that the highest level of service is provided.
* Performs other duties which may include catastrophe team participation and 24-hour on-call service program.

Requirements |
* Bachelors degree preferred, continuing insurance education desired
* At least 2 years experience handling claims
* Thorough knowledge of insurance coverages, contracts & claims handling guidelines
* Multi-state experience preferred
* Experience with disputed and/or litigated claims
* Ability to analyze written reports, such as medical records and legal documentation
* Ability to communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds and uphold our high standard of customer service
* Negotiation and settlement skills
* Hard work, honesty, integrity and unwavering business ethics
* Detail-oriented organizational skills in a multi-tasking environment
* Success driven individual who has demonstrated success in a claims adjusting role
